Terms of Service
Last updated: September 30, 2026
1. The service
CallRoster answers your business's after-hours calls with an AI voice agent, sends emergencies to your on-call technician, logs calls, and runs your on-call rotation by text message. It can also connect to other software you use, such as Jobber.
2. Important: it is not an emergency service
CallRoster is not a 911 or emergency-response service and must not be relied on for life-safety situations. Calls and texts depend on phone networks, third-party providers and correct setup, and can be delayed or fail. AI can misunderstand a caller or misjudge urgency. You remain responsible for your own response to customers, for keeping your roster and phone numbers up to date, and for having a backup plan if a call or text does not get through.
3. Your account
- Keep your login details safe. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- Give accurate information, including technicians' mobile numbers.
- Only add technicians who have agreed to receive on-call texts and calls from your CallRoster number.
4. Free trial
New accounts may get a 7-day free trial, with no credit card required. Trials may have limits, for example on the number of technicians. If you have not added a payment method when the trial ends, your account is paused until you do. We may change or end trial offers at any time.
5. Fees and billing
- Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe, at the price shown when you subscribe, plus applicable taxes.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and fees already paid are not refunded.
- If a payment fails, we may pause the service until it is resolved.
- We will give you at least 30 days' notice of a price change.
- Plans may include fair-use limits on call volume. If your use is well above normal for your plan, we will contact you before taking any action.
6. Your responsibilities
You agree to use CallRoster lawfully, including laws on telemarketing, call recording, privacy and anti-spam (such as CASL). Where the law requires it, you are responsible for telling callers that calls may be answered by AI and recorded, and for getting your staff's consent to receive texts. You must not use CallRoster to send marketing texts or unsolicited messages, harass anyone, or try to break, overload or copy the service.
7. Your data
You own the information you and your callers put into CallRoster. You give us permission to use it only to provide, secure and support the service, as described in our Privacy Policy. We will act on your instructions for information we process on your behalf.
8. Phone numbers
We provide a phone number for your account through our telecom provider. The number remains ours to manage. If you cancel, we may release it after 30 days. If you forward your existing business line to CallRoster, you remain responsible for your own phone service and forwarding settings.
9. Connected apps
If you connect another app, such as Jobber, you authorise us to access it as needed to provide the features you turn on, for example creating requests and finding or adding clients. Your use of that app is governed by its own terms. You can disconnect at any time.
10. Availability and changes
We work to keep CallRoster running reliably but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may improve or change features. If we make a change that materially reduces what you pay for, we will tell you in advance.
11. Warranties and liability
Except as stated in these terms, CallRoster is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost business, lost profits or losses from a missed or misrouted call, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
12. Suspension and termination
You can cancel at any time from your account or by contacting us. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, fail to pay, or put the service or others at risk, with notice where reasonable. After closing, you can ask for an export of your call records within 30 days.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will give you at least 30 days' notice of important changes by email or in the app. Continuing to use CallRoster after they take effect means you accept them.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of Ontario have jurisdiction over any dispute.
